Biogas is produced through the breakdown or organic materials in the absence of oxygen. This conversion process is known as anaerobic digestion.

Biogas can be manufactured from raw materials such as municipal waste, manure, plant material, wastewater sludge (feedstock) or sewage.

The material is fed in a digester at a certain temperature for a select period of time. This eventuates in the production of methane, carbon dioxide and other gases, collectively known as biogas.

The biogas formed can be used in numerous ways

  • Power Generation
  • Heating
  • Cooling
  • Biodiesel/ Biogas
  • Waste remaining can be transformed into a high quality fertilizer
